Wow. There are
a lot of cruel people in this world. I could use my broad vocabulary to call them whatever, but basically they are just a bunch of assholes. Of course there are a lot of nice people too. Seemingly. You never know, though.
It find it frightening how people turn into heaps of shit and throw around fiendish words as they please as long as they can hide behind a username. It doesn't change the fact they they actually reach out to
real people in the
real world.
Either they don't care or they just don't understand this. It is beyond me how people can act this way towards one another. I have seen this happen a lot of times in various fora and on various websites, but what really set me off this time were a bunch of comments posted on one of my best friends' YouTube videos (this one:
[link].
We had been filming together for a dance contest that she was competing in and only had good intention when uploading our video. We didn't expect to win as the level was very high, but just competing for the fun of it. I uploaded it for her on her channel and for some time, nothing happened. We thought that maybe they hadn't seen the e-mail she had sent them, and didn't give it much attention.
I have to mention that the competition she was competing in was KOREAN and had to do with the phenomenon called K-POP. Ergo the video was solely directed towards people with an interest in dancing, the competition or K-POP in general.
Two months passed and she asked me if we could do another cover. We did so and when I was going to upload it, I took a look a our last video. I was astounded. I know that you can't expect to only receive positive response - not on the Internet or anywhere else, but what I saw shocked me. I saw comments such as:
- "you asked /b/ to give you good ratings??? Are you retarded?"
- "Well it would help if u were on beat and were physically attractive and didn't just stand there half the time"
- "you are being trolled, faggots. but anyway maybe the dancer has more succes if she posts vagoo"
- "dafucq is this shit i cant even fap to this

yes im danish look at ze name lulz"
Non of these people had any interest in the contest, in dance in general, and most likely didn't know or care about what K-pop is. Now, I'm aware that you can't expect ignorant people to be interested in culture or in anything else but themselves, but that is no reason to say nasty stuff to people that have done nothing to offend you and that you haven't even met. Heck, they didn't even need to comment.
My friend must have seen these comments, because they are a month old, but she hasn't said anything to me about it. She hasn't even mentioned it. Her attitude hasn't changed either and she still wants to keep doing cover dances and to improve herself. She is very strong and very mature for acting this way.
I however isn't very mature when it comes to things like this. Especially not when I see people bash my friends for no reason whatsoever. I know that this doesn't only happen to me and my friends, but to lots and lots of people all over the world everyday, every hour and every minute. That is why, I felt the need to write this entry.
Don't feed the troll, but don't let it tramp on your crops either.
Sincerely a pissed off netizen.
